"Among the first comers to this embryo city [McKeesport] was WIlliam Cavin, who arrived in 1807, bringing with him a cow. He married a daughter of Colonel William Loughead, a veteran of the War of 1812, who kept a general store on Third street near Walnut street."

"Among the accessions to its [McKeesport's] population was William Cavin who came from New York by way of Pittsburgh, where he was offered an acre of ground in the vicinity of Wood street in exchange for his cow; but he continued his journey, preferring the superior advantage of the place that was twelve miles nearer Philadelphia. After a short residence in McKeesport, he married a daughter of Col. William Loughead, the first merchant of the town, whose store was situated on the north side of Third street.

The following is a list of residents in 1830:
...William Loughead, merchant: his place of business was a log house on the north side of Third, nearly opposite Behan and Penny... Andrew Soles, merchant, was engaged in business at the corner of Third and Market, in a two story log building that is still standing... Peter Soles, shoemaker, lived on Second street..."

Jane Loughhead [Parents] 1 was born 2 in 1804. She died 3 on 29 May 1882. She was buried 4 in McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. She married Major William Caven.

They had the following children:

Possibly the "George B. Caven" buried in the same plot as his parents? If so, d. 5/17/1869.
