John Penwell [Parents] ^{1, 2} was born ³ about 1647. He died ⁴ before 6 Feb 1695. He married ⁵ Sarah Puddington before 1673.

"John Penwell
He came from Plymouth, England, to the Isles of Shoals, about 1665 as a mariner in command of the Ketch George and Samuel of Piscataqua. He brought his wife and son with him and died "some years" before 1675 aged about fifty-five years (N.H. Deeds ii, 112b; iii, 113b), leaving a widow and a son, John. This son, born about 1647 removed to York about 1670 where he resided until his death. he was an appraiser 1671, had a land grant in 1674 near the Wells boundary at the water side (T.R. i, 48); Grand Juror 1673; witness 1691; and was dead before February 1695-6 (Deeds iv, 114). He was called a mariner and an attorney in the court records and lived on a small plot of land on the "County Road" on the George Puddington home lot. He married Sarah, daughter of George and Mary (Pooke) Puddington, before 1673, and by her had a daughter Alice who married Nathaniel Freeman (q.v.). He was thus a stepson of Major John Davis. His estate was not settled until 1704, when his mother-in-law, Mrs. mary Puddington Davis, was granted letters of administration, as his widow Sarah was non compos mentis.

Sarah Puddington [Parents] ¹ was born ² about 1641. She died . She married ³ John Penwell before 1673.

Jane Norton ¹ died ² about 1686. She married ³ Henry Simpson on 13 Mar 1638.

Robert Preble [Parents] ^{1, 2} was born ^{3, 4} about 1586 in Wooton/Denton, Kent, England. He was christened ⁵ in 1586 in Denton, Kent, England. He died . He married ⁶ Aphra Hanbrooke on 20 Jun 1614.

Aphra Hanbrooke ¹ died . She married ² Robert Preble on 20 Jun 1614.

Jacobs ¹ died . He married Frances Preble.

Frances Preble [Parents] ¹ was born ² in 1595 in Denton, Kent, England. She was christened ^{3, 4} on 20 Sep 1595 in Denton, Kent, England. She died . She married Jacobs.

Thomas Benjamin ¹ died . He married Eleanor Preble.

Eleanor Preble [Parents] was born ¹ about 1601. She died . She married Thomas Benjamin.

John Twisden was christened ¹ on 10 Sep 1592 in Denton Court, Kent, England. He died ² before Nov 1660. He married ³ Susanna Stuppell on 8 May 1620.

Susanna Stuppell ¹ died . She married ² John Twisden on 8 May 1620.
