"Dea. John Baker, probably son of Samuel, of Hull and Barnstable above, m. Anna (b. Mar 4, 1676), dau. of Samuel Annable, of Barnstable, Oct. 4, 1696. She d. March 21, 1732-3, "aged near 57 years". He came to Windham, probably with his sons Samuel and John, about 1746, and located in the south part of the parish (now town) of Scotland. When the descendants had become somewhat numerous, the place where the family located was called "Baker town". Dea. John united with the church in Scotland, then the third church of Windham, Dec. 14, 1746, and d. Jan. 27, 1763, aged 90 years. The following is the inscription on his gravestone:
'In Memory of Dn.
