Mrs. Anna Swartzel, 23, wife of Raymond Swartzel, of Germantown died Sunday afternoon, April 5, 1936, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after a short illness. Mrs. Swartzel had been ill at her home since march 15, and she was removed tothe hospital on march 24, where her condition continued critical. Born near camden, she moved to Germantown in 1920 with her parents and was graduated form Germantown High School with the class of 1932. She was a member of the methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are the husband, two children, Vallie Delores, three years and harry Edward, seven months; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Harry Bender; three brothers, Ralph, charley and John Bender, and two sisters, Clara and Edna Bender. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the parents residence and at 2:15 p.m. at the Methodist episcopal Church. Burial will be made in Germantown Cemetery. Parents: Harry Augustus BENDER and Mary Evaline SHOCK.

He was back in the home when a mother (Sarah Anthony) and her son (Henry "Hen) took Harry to work on their farm: located on Boomershine Road in north-
western German Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. He united Sunday, February 27, 1910 in the Farmersville's Messiah Luteran Church with Mary Evaline Shock. They planned the wedding for after the church service & the congregation gone; but they stayed & more came, filling the church. Mary's birth was April 25, 1893 at Rockford, Mercer county, Ohio to William A. and Mary "Minnie" Grace (Robinson) Shock: the grandaughter of George and Nancy (Herring) Shock, and Benjamin and Mary Ellen (Pixler) Roinson; the great-granddaughter of Peter and Mary Ann (Boyd) Shock, Lewis and Elizabeth (Shope) Herrring, and Joseph and Mary Robinsson; the great-great-granddaugh-
ter of George and Elizabeth (Schutlz) Shock, and James and Anna Maria (Yowler) Boyd; and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Isaac & Ann Yowler. Harry & Mary first lived at Somerville, Butler County, Ohio, where their 1st child was born. After moving to Camden in Preble County, their 2nd child was born. They abided by Farmersville on Manning Road, Jackson Township when their 4th and 5th children were born. Harry was doing farm work for carl Hudges and they moved to his farm near Mansfield, Ohio in 1918. After staying there fora year and a half, they went to Germantown. He started doing farm work for John Flin-
spach, so they moved to his tenant farm on Friend Road, German Township. It was here their last two children were born and they moved February 28, 1927 back to Germantown when the last child was just three weeks old.Harry, Mary, two of their babies and his second wife rest in Mound Hill cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.

Harry A. Bender, age 74, of 214 S. Cherry street, Germantown, died Friday, February 21, 1964 at 1:15 p.m. at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He had been in filing health since 1956. Harry Augustus was born January 16, 1890, in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio, to Charles A. and Anna Carrianger Bender. He married Miss Mary E. Shock, daughter of William A. and Minnie Robison Shock, February 27, 1910, in Farmersville, Ohio. They wer the parents of eights children. His wife died October 13, 1956. He late remarried and she died October 31, 1963. Three daughters, one siste and one brother are also deceased. A retired drill press operator from the John Dupps Company, member of the Germantown D of A. Survived by three sons, William C., Ralph A., and John O., all of Germantown, tow daughtes, Mrs. Clara E. Slusser and Mrs. Edna J. Mefford both of Germantown, one sister, Mrs. Edna E. Bell of Eaton, Ohio and one brothr Everett Roberts of Sommerville, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-
grandchildren. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Monday from the John Arpp Funeral Home, Germantown, Ohio, Rev. J. C. Herbert officiating. Burial will be in Mond Hill Cemetery, Eaton, Ohio. Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. D. of A. services Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Mary Alice (Bender) Curry, age 56, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died April 9, 1989 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Mrs Curry was born to William Charley and Helen (Henry) Bender in Germantown, July 19, 1932. She graduated from Germantown High School in 1950 and received her degree from the University of Dayton in 1954. On April 7, 1953 she married Harold Donnie Curry, who survives his wife. Also surviving are her three sons: Ricardo Ray and wife RoseAnn of Lynchburg; jeffrey Steven and wife Teresa of New Vienna and Marcus Elden at home; three grandchildren: Dusty Ray, Stephanie and Cassandra Lynn Curry; her father and stepmother, Charley and Marjorie Bender of Germantown; Uncles, Ralph and John Bender of Germantown; Aunts, Edna Mefford of Germantown and Sarah Ellerman of Monre, Michigan. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 12, at the Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton, with the Rev. Gary A. Batey officiating. Burial was at the Moung Hill Union Cemetery, also in eaton. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army Air Force. Preceded in death by his first wife, Lena 1980.
