LYTTON
SPRINGS PARK ASSOCIATION
& THE TABERNACLE RESTORATION PROJECT
Long the
center of the community, the Tabernacle has been an aging landmark in
need of tender loving care for a number of years. A grant was
obtained from LCRA but work had already began even before the grant was
written. Benches were rebuilt and painted while plans were made
for the restoration of the structure and the grounds.
The
restoration will fix the roof, replace the main supports of the
building, upgrade the electrical system, add lighting, grade the ground
to divert the rain water runoff and paint the whole building.
Volunteer work is the key to the project and many hours have already
been logged but more are needed. If you have a skill and want to
help just contact the project manager, Ron McCandless using the email
in the graphic below.
More
funds are needed to complete the process and in the spirit of our
community we are having a Arts & Crafts Sale that is in
need of a name as it will become an annual event for us. If you
have a craft person in the family that wants to have a booth or if you
have antiques/woodwork/jewelry/junk or just want people to come by and
see you, rent a booth for only $20.00. November 8th is the
date!!!! No admission Charge, lots of free parking and lots of
food. For more details follow the link to the Fling.
