George Thomas Roberts was born in Sparksville, Adair County, Kentucky, on 13-Mar-1866, and at the age of 37, married Ora Curry (aged 25, of Breeding, Kentucky) in 1905
The newlyweds then relocated near Nashville, Tennessee where George found employment working on the ship locks in the area. The growing family now included an infant, George Holland.
Harking to the lure of free land, the Family relocated to New Mexico where they homesteaded land near the town of Elida, and where a second child (Irene) was born. George then removed his family to Oklahoma and after establishing residence there, he began a farming enterprise on his newly aquired farmlands, and also raised horses and mules, which he sold to local farmers.
