Lukens Guestbook

Thank you for visiting my WebSpace site. Please Add your comments to this guestbook!

I have finally traced down my line with the help of Jill Hurd's book, though it does not include my father or his siblings. The line is as follows: Jan> Abraham> Enos> Abraham Tennis> Charles Shoemaker> A. Walter Lukens Sr.> A. Walter Lukens Jr.> Peter Scott Lukens> Mark Abram Lukens (my brother), and Jonathan Michael Lukens (me). A new lukens has been added within the last year, my brother's son Jonathan Tyler Lukens.

I was named after my grandmother Helen Lukens who married George Warder Cresson. They lived in Swathmore. Her siblings were Marion & Arthur & there may have been more. I do know that they were from Germantown. I would love any information who she may have decended from. This site is a great find!

This site is indeed a wonderful discovery. I am originally from the Philadelphia area, but am now attending school out here in Montana. I was born in North Wales, PA (where my grandmother Marcel Lukens still lives and my grandfather A. Walter Lukens lived untill his passing). I have collected a bit of information on the family, as well as documented/photographed the Tennis-Lukens cemetery (circa 1700) near North Penn, PA. I would love to hear from anyone who has information regarding the Lukens family, as I am trying to piece together the line which my immediate family follows (originally starting with Jan Lukens [Lucken] in the late 1600's). Actually, it would be nice to hear from any Lukens at all--nothing is better than family.

It was great to find your page.Have not had much luck finding any Lukens. My great grand father was Sylvester Lukens, he married Mary Bisson and they had 2 sons Harry Bisson Lukens and Agustus Bisson Luken, my grandfather. My father was also Augustus Bisson Lukens, and was born in Doylestown,Pa. As far as I have been able to tell we go back to Tabitha Lukens, but I have no links between her and my great grandfather Slyvester. I would love to have more information if anyone can help. Thanks for all the work on this web page.

I believe I am descended from Benjamin Lukens, then Jacob, my g g granfather was Eli Lukens, living in southeastern Ohio and his daughter Catherine was my g grandmother. I really enjoyed all the research. It is so wonderful to only put in a few missing pieces. My piece at his time is which of Jacob's grandson's begat my G G Grandfather Eli, Eli Brindley Lukens is at least one generation before my grandfather. From another descendant of Jacob Lukens, he told me Eli Brindley also had a son Eli, but still perhaps one generation away. But now with all your research I just have to get the 1840 Ohio census for the southeastern Ohio counties and get the last links. Thanks for putting all the info out. Selena Dilley

PS - Nancy Lovell, again - just to clarify: When I wrote "(not mine)" I was referring to the entry and the info on Mary Cooke. Ie., I'm glad to find some other INPUT other than mine. When I read it it sounded like I was saying that Mary Cooke was not mine. She definitely IS! Any other Mary descendants out there ? Love, Nancy
