Origins and Migrations of the Yeager Family:

The name Yeager, originally spelled Jaeger, is of course German in origin.  Since it such a common name in Germany, tracing this family has been very difficult.  Family traditions conflict on the origin of the family, one tradition states Frederick immigrated from Thuringia, while another states his family originated in the Black Forest of Southwestern Germany.  More research is needed to verify where Frederick originally came from.  What I have available, will be posted on this site.

After he immigrated, around 1880, Frederick settled in Pittsburgh.  Many members of the family still reside in southwestern Pennsylvania.
