Steely Cemetery

Notice the engravement on Delia "Dilley" Davis Hinkle's stone, I know it is hard to read, the stone was leaning towards the ground a bit and was hard to get a good picture of it. All that is on the headstone is this DILEY HINKLE, BORN MAY 24, 1833, DIED APRIL 7 1881. Delia married James Madison Hinkle June 26, 1850 in Knox County, Kentucky, daughter of Jobe Broughton Davis, mother unknown, Jobe married 3 more times after Delia's mother.
Delia and James had eleven children, they are has birth order: Mary Elizabeth (Joseph Sumner), Peter (Margaret Elizabeth Jones) my GG Grandparents, Elisha (Jimima Meadows), Martha Ellen (Middleton Bluford Meadors), Lewis (Elizabeth Jones), Susan (John E. Taylor, Thomas Andrew (Martha E. Wyatt), Permelia (Solomon F. Sumner)"Thomas & Permelia were twins", James Madison Jr. (Martha Walker), Manda C. (E. B. Inman) and Francis Elizabeth "Fannie" (James Sherman Sumner). Anyone having information confirming the SUMNER men meaning their connection brother or cousins please email ME! Lisa.
Thur my seven years of research I have ran across different spellings of Delia's first name and her nickname, they are as I have them, Delanna, Delia Della, Dela, Dilley, Diley, but back in those days not must spelling was studied, but they spelled the names as they pronounced them. But as you came she who ever engraved the headstone the person spelled her nickname "DILEY". Anyone having more information on Delia "Dilley" Davis Hinkle or even a correction or addition or type-o please email Me! Lisa, GGG Granddaughter of Delia "Dilley" Davis Hinkle.
