The letter was written on September 28, 1928, letter reads like this. To the dear folks Youngsville. I do not have time to write all of you's individually so you can pass this around. We are on our way to Africa. This is the gon Island and well will be here about 10 days, to travel yet. Will arrive in Africa about the 8 or 9 of Oct. Have had a safe trip thus far. Bro & Sis Carter. Carter's was on a Missionary Trip and sent the post card to Mr & Mrs. Joe Smittle is Joseph & Anna Elizabeth "Kellis" Smittle Children of Joseph & Anna Elizabeth Smittle are Jesse A. married Lucy C. Flaugher, Alfred Earl married Gladys Estella Nevil and William Benjamin never married. Notice the postage! Also notice the letter was written with fountain pen, not used any more these days and ages {2004} Front of the postcard has this stamped on the it, Madeira, Funchal, Catedral, any correction please email me Lisa!
