Decatur Newton was born May 1844 in Owsley or Estill County, Jinks, Kentucky, died January 5, 1924 in Lee County, Willow,Kentucky. Decatur's 1st wife Martha Jane Freeman married July 12, 1866 in Estill County,Kentucky born Abt. 1840, died Abt. 1876. Decatur's 2nd wife Nancy Ashcraft married May 10, 1877 in Estill County, Kentucky, born March 1849 in Kentucky, died Bet. 1900-1906.
Decatur's 3rd wife Charlotte "Lottie" Raider/Rader married October 24, 1906 in Lee County,Irvine, Kentucky. Charlotte born June 7, 1880 in Kentucky, No death date. Charlotte is the daughter George & Elizabeth "Betsy" Robinson Raider/Rader. Decatur was 62 years old when he married Charlotte she was 26 years old.
Decatur and Lottie raised 5 children together, Minerva Jane Raider/Rader was Charlotte "Lottie" daughter out of wedlock. Minvera was 8 years old when her mother and Decatur got married.
