 This is of my Great Grandparents James Francis "Frank" & Minerva Jane Harris-Raider Jones called either Nerva or Nervy or Nevie found different spellings of her name or nickname and their 2 daughter at the time of this census Ruthie and Eula Mae. As of March 4, 2005, I have yet found any documentation or Bible record of my Great Grandmother Minerva Jane Raider being adopted by her Aunt Manerva Jane "RAIDER" Harris or Legally had her maiden name changed or just took the surname Harris. I am soon hoping to have a little help on this matter. All has been handed down thur the generation no one at this time knew of Minerva Jane's biological father. I know her GRANDPARENTS George & Elizabeth "Betsy" Robinson Raider raised her. Her mother Charlotte Jane "Lottie" Raider married Decatur "Dick" Newton at the age of 28 years old Decatur age 62 yrs. This was Lottie's 1st marriage & Dectur's 3rd marriage. Minerva Jane Lottie's daughter was born out of wedlock and was 8 years old when her mother Charlottie Jane "Lottie" married Decatur "Dick" Newton I also know that every legal document, Minerva signed she used the surname Harris never RAIDER, question is why? Did her mothers sister Manerva Jane Raider Harris and her husband adopt Minerva?, or did Minerva just take the name HARRIS? After 32 years of marriage Minerva filed divorce against James Francis "Frank" Jones, their divorce was final in 1948, Butler County, Hamilton,Ohio. Now as for Ruthie you can see she was 2 yrs 11 months old and according to my family tree record I have Ruthie born January 26, 1917 and died March 29, 1917, Ruthie was turning 3 years old January 26, 1920, according to the above census Ruthie still was living in January 1920.
