   Under the picture it states: " The Old Belfast School was located across from the Jackson Twp. Community Center". I personally do not know exactly where the Community Center in Belfast Jackson Twp. Highland County, Ohio was. I asked my husband, but he does not know either. Siders was born and raised in and around Jackson Twp. Belfast, Highland County, Ohio. The 1st Belfast Schoolhouse I have on was built in 1822, then in 1842 the 2nd Old Belfast School house was built and was supervised by George Washington "Squire" Siders my husbands GG Grandfather. But there was never mentioned of a second story schoolhouse. So maybe there was a total of 4 Belfast Schoolhouses built? I am only going by what I have researched and read and saw pictures but I have yet been able to really get the FULL STORY of the total of Jackson Twp. Belfast Schoolhouses.    E-Mail me: Lisa!   |
