Bart A. Sharpe Born June 17, 1904 in Kentucky died December 5, 1982 in Whitley County, Kentucky (possible) son of William & Mary Sharpe. Bart married Dova "Aunt Dovie" Prewitt on September 22, 1926 in Campbell County, Jellico, Tennessee. Dova daughter of Warren Asberry & Flaura Lee "Hinkle" Prewitt, grandaughter of Lewis & Elizabeth "Jones" Hinkle & Great Granddaughter of James Madsion Sr. & Delia "Dilley" Davis Hinkle & GG Granddaughter of William & Susannah "Treadway" Hinkle & 3rd Granddaughter of Michael "Micha" Jr. & "Nancy Haggins" Hinkle & 4th Granddaughter of Michael "Micha" Sr. & Rebecca "Spurgin" Hinkle and 5th Great Granddaughter of Rev. Anthony Jacob & Anna Margaret Whitthaus. Dova took care of her twin brother & sister Ralph Earl & Ruth Pearl, their mother Flaura died 17 days later after the twins were born with the weakness of childbirth, pneumonia set in and Flaura no longer could fight the illness. At 8 years old Dova took over caring for her twin brother & sister Ralph Earl and Ruth Pearl, Dova was only a child herself, she took on a whole different role a "Mother" at the age of 8 years old. Dova and Bart were God Fearing people, as many of their family members from generations to generations. Somewhere shortly after World War II (1945) Bart and Dova moved to Monroe County, Monroe, Michigan. They had 8 children raised seven children in Monroe County, Monroe, Michigan, their son Warren Edward was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on April 15, 1935 and died in Whitley County, Williamsburg, Kentucky on October 20 1935. Warren is laid to rest as both his parents Bart and Dova is laid to rest in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, located on Route 1484, Whitley County, Williamsburg, Kentucky. Anyone not knowning the miles from Whitley County, Williamsburg, Kentucky to Monroe County, Monroe, Michigan is ruffly 8 hour drive. Please anyone knowing Bart A. Sharpe's parents please email Me! Sharpe was born 1904 so Gilbert could be Bart's brother and any corrections or type-o's or additions please contact me. The picture was taken during James Madison Hinkle Sr.'s Family Reunion on Saturday September 17, 2005, James Madison Sr. is Dova's Great Grandfather. Small piece of history to note James Madison Hinkle Sr. & his 2nd wife Mary "Polly" Taylor Hinkle donated the ground that Bart and Dova and many many family members are laid to rest in. The Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery was built in 1910, note the original name for the property was named United Baptist Church of Christ on Piney Grove Road (now Route 1484), when the name was changed to Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, I do not know, but would appreciate it if someone knew, email Me! link below.
