![]() Because the Loy 1897 reunion photo also has Arthur Loy wearing the same kind of tie that this little boy is wearing, I have a feeling this is Arthur and maybe his mother Bertha (Sampson) after the divorce of Bertha and Arthur's father James Wallace Loy. Arthur was raised by his paternal grandfather John Henry and step-grandmother Angeline (Hightower) Loy. | ![]() As this picture was embossed "Hagerstown, MD," Helen thought it that this woman might be of the Funk, Ditto, or Tedrick side, as some of them lived in MD. |
![]() #11-Not Tin Type This is my favorite of all the pictures. I have a haunting suspicion that this little girl could be my grandmother Susan. It would be very unusual if Andrew C.'s family hadn't had a picture of his own niece. The expression this little girl has is similar to a picture I have of my grandmother when she was about 18, which is the youngest "identified" photo I have of her thus far. She also always parted her hair on that same side. | ![]() Helen theorized this might be her father's paternal grandmother Angeline (Hightower) Loy and her father's maternal grandmother on the Cronk side, Martha (Funk) Tedrick. Note that the type of picture, with paper frame, was same pattern as used for that tintype of Emma (Tedrick) Loy's brother. It is also similar, though not in pattern, to the paper framed tintype of Martha (Funk) Tedrick's sister Libbie Funk with brother Calvin Funk. |
