In 1694 he removed to Norton, Massachusetts and there took a second wife Sarah, by whom he had several children. From the published history of Norton I learn that he settled near the boundary line between Norton and Attleborough, upon a farm which, in 1859 was owned by George Lane, a descendant. He was known in Hingham as 'John Lane, shoemaker.' He was a Constable in 1689."

696. Thomas Farnsworth

Elizabeth Perinchief, Mike Krannawitter 1992: "Thomas came from England to Philadelphia on the ship "Kent" in 1677. From William Penn, he acquired land by deed on 2 Apr 1681- 500 acres at Farnsworth's Landing. The name of the town was later changed to Bordentown. He was a Quaker and was imprisoned in 1665 for attending a meeting of Quakers at Tupton, Derbyshire, England. He had a brother, Richard of Tickhill, England. Thomas' wife, Susannah was a Quaker Preacher and came to America in 1678 on the ship "Shield" with their children and indentured servants. Thomas was constable of Chesterfield, NJ, in 1689. Mary Young MAEVE148@aol.com August 2000: "Thomas Farnsworth and his wife Susanna Smith founded Farnsworths Landing, which later became Bordentown. He died at Farnsworths Landing."

Letter from Lucy E. Rose Newton, NJ 31 Dec 1935: Andreas ROSE was listed as
among the Palatine immigrants in West Camp, NY the latter half of 1710, having arrived aboard a vessel (with the HMS Medford with colonizer Dominee Kocherthal, sent by Queen Anne, sailing from London January 1710). The migration settled at Schoharie, Mohawk Valley and part of PA. (This information came from a Miss Crawford, researching the AULT family: Rose Notes (McKethy) Book of names of early Palatines arriving at New York 1708-1710. "Peter Rose, Glazier", "Andreas Rose, West Camp, winter of 1710"; Rec of Marjorie Jones (deceased 92): place of birth Reading.

MARRIAGE: (wife's name unknown)- they had 2 sons, both born in Londonderry:
James, b. 1690 and Samuel, b. 1695. Both migrated to America where James
settled in Tyron County, province of NY (later Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY)
in 1741; NOTE: Major William served in the defense of Londonderry in 1689.

NOTE: One researcher states that he died at Londonderry. Another states he died
1756 at Salem, Essex, Mass. Both are unverified. McPhail (Highland Papers,
p.88) does make reference to "son William who went abroad", so perhaps the
Salem data is correct;
David T. Palmer B9 Block 3 Pine Court Hong Kong 8-94: gives death date as 1757
(ae93) place Salem. "Was a Lt. Col. in Londonderry, Ireland". He shows wife as
Miss McLean (as do other's records); Rank Lt.Colonel
