| Before Anthoine adhemar royal notare and record keeper in
the jurisdiction of Trois-Rivieres residing in Champlain and witnesses named at the end, was present in his person nobleman Anthn de pecaudy Esquire seigr of Contrecoeur who willingly sold, quitclaim and released forever with promise and guarantee to improve to philibert Coulleau dit Roquebrune of the said Contrecoeur, present here & accepting for himself and his heirs and assigning a Concession Situated in the said Contrecoeur and belonging to the said seigneur because of the abandonment of said concession by the previous tenant comprising of sixty arpents of land of two arpents at the front by 30 (1 arpent area= .845 acres) arpts of depth facing the Saint Lawrence River, and at the far end of this purchaser's property alongside that of pierre favro dit dulaurier & its appurtinances to enjoy and for their personnal use, the present sale is made with the usual duties to the seigneur in proportion to his income in addition to the above sum of thirty livres (pounds sterling, which the said buyer promises to pay to said seigneurs due on the next Christmas Day and in concession for which the said seigneur promises to make the said concession enjoyable and profitable for the said buyer, releasing and disclaiming with this (document) written and approved at home of said Contrecoeur seigneur of the place, this twelfth day of febvrier in the year one thousand six hundred and eighty after noon in the presence of Michel Moureau and co-signed by said seigneur and notary and Jean mazo dit StMartin of the same place, who said that said buyer was not able to sign this transaction when asked according to the ordinance CONTRECOEUR Moreau Adhemar |
