Note**** First of all I need to say the Truesdale family was not blood related to me. My Grandmother married Lloyd Truesdale. So I guess he was my step-grandfather but I didn't know it until after they were both dead. But to me he was my "grandfather". He was a good man and I loved him dearly and I know he loved me. 1. TRUESDALE died before 1910 in SC.
Found a black and white photo in my grandfather's (Lloyd Ezzell "Ted" Truesdale) belongings. Photo is of a headstone with James H Truesdal Oct 11 1892 - May 21 1948 and Maggie Oct 3 1895. Wondering how James was related to my grandfather.
My grandfather's Mother was Mattie Threatt daughter of Benjamin Franklin Threatt and Mary Arant. Mattie married a Truesdale but I do not know which one!

On 1920 Census Chester SC 4 WD Chester it shows Mattie as being 45 years old. This would make her birth year as 1875 not 1867. ? Mattie Tresdale

Both are buried at Ebenezer Reformed Associated Church, Mecklenburg Co, NC.

Ted Truesdale told my mother Pearl Geneva Mays Truesdale that he was married once before Sadie and that it was only for a short period, that his wife had been killed in an auto accident and that she was a nurse.
Both are buried at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vale, Lincoln Co, NC.

GARY D. TRUESDALE VALE - Mr. Gary Daniel Truesdale, 65, of 6008 Bill Sain Road in Vale, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Locke officiating. His body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight, Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Warlick Funeral Home. Mr. Truesdale was born May 28, 1940, in Catawba County to the late Lloyd “Ted” and Sadie Beal Truesdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Tuesdale. Mr. Truesdale was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, and very dedicated to his family and his church, Trinity Lutheran, where he was a member for many years. Mr. Truesdale was self-employed as an accountant for more than 26 years. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Truesdale of the home; one son, Brian Truesdale and his wife, Jennifer, of Vale; two daughters, Kelly Murtagh and her husband, J.L., and Janet Flowers and her husband, Eddie, of Lincolnton; three grandsons, Matt Murtagh, Andrew Flowers and Austin Flowers; and three granddaughters, Johnna Murtagh, Lexi Truesdale and Heather Truesdale.
