Asheville - Mallie Cole Rhodes, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006.
Mrs. Rhodes was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Buncombe County, where she had lived for most of her life. She retired in 1983 from Square D Company, where she was a quality control inspector. Mallie was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late James N. and Pearl Jump Cole.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty Pope of Leicester; son, Larry J. Rhodes of Asheville; sister, Gladys Bartlett of Asheville; two grandchildren, Lisa Ybarra and John D. Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Norma Pulliam Chapel of Givens Estate, with Chaplain Joe Fulk officiating.
