Born Jan. 31, 1928, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Bill and Lillie Newton Hull. He retired as sales manager for Waldensian Bakeries after 32 years of service and was also co-owner of Cleveland Feed & Farm Supply. He was a member of Fallston Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Roy Hull; and three sisters, Beatrice Hull Willis, Margurea Hull Smith and Coleen Hull Lester. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bobby L. Martin Hull of the home; a son, Eddie Hull of Shelby; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tom Alcide of Lawndale; a brother and his wife, Bob and Jeanette Hull of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Dottie Hull of Fallston; a granddaughter and her husband, Jenny H. and Chad Day of Belwood; and three other grandchildren, Kyle, Connor and Kelsey Alcide of Lawndale. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Fallston Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Norton officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston. She is survived by a son, Douglas Newton of Forest City; a brother, George Ben Newton of Connelly Springs; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Mineral Springs Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Buren Hastings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
