Homard Carroll Moose, 88, of Lincoln Nursing Center, formerly of 1029 Union St., died Dec. 19, 2001. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Maiden where he was a member. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. Born in Catawba County, he was retired from Carolina Mills after 28 years of service. Survivors include two daughters, Norma Moose Harris of Maiden and Betty Moose Laws of Lexington; one brother, Joe Moose of Maiden; one sister, Dot Moose Fullwood of Conway, S.C.; five grandchildren, Crystal Dellinger, Kim Black, Connie Moss, Mitch Harris and Jimmy Laws; and eight great-grandchildren.

7. Dorothy May Detter born 4 Jan 1923, Catawba Co, NC. Dorothy died 27 Sep 2003, Milton, Santa Rosa Co, Florida. Married Dean Wesley Dellinger born 18 Jun 1922, Catawba Co, NC. Dean was the son of Garvey Dellinger and Bessie Murray.

Joelle Dawson Detter, 28, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Dawson Spruill; maternal grandfather, Vernon Lee Spruill Sr.; and paternal grandparents, J.D. and Hazel Detter. She is survived by her parents, James and Dorothy Detter of Fayetteville; sister, Stephanie Detter Purser and husband Tommie of Cary; grandmother, Mrs. Vernon L. Spruill of Fayetteville; and beloved friend, Andrew Berto of Fayetteville. Joelle was a graduate of Terry Sanford High School, Fayetteville Technical Community College and Fayetteville State University. She was a special education teacher with the Cumberland County school system. Arrangements are being handled by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville. Visitation will be at 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at Hay Street United Methodist Church with Dr. John Tyson officiating. Burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park.
