The church was built 1863-64 and is still typical for its time period.

Gårdeby church is situated on a small hill in the middle of the parish.
The main part is from the 12th century, and no major change has
been made since the Middle Ages.

According to tradition built by king Sverker 1137 and is one of the best preserved
churches in Östergötland from the Middle Ages.

The south wall is from the 12th century. In the middle of the 17th century
a new chapel and chancel  was added and the sculptured portal in the north wall.
In the 18th century the church got its present exterior.

Built in the 13th century and not much changed except for the porch which was added in 1845.

According to tradition, the church was built in 1137 together with Kaga church by king Sverker.
The church got its form of a cross in 1831-34.

Of the oldest church from about 1200 the west wall and the base part of the tower remain.
In the middle of the 18th century the church was enlarged and the tower was built.

The church is overlooking the Svartå river on a little hill. It was built 1850 and replaced
an older church from the 12th century.

Lillkyrka
The oldest parts are from 1200. The tower was built 1745 and the red porch 1960-63,
replacing on older one. In the middle of the 19th century the church was in such disrepair
that it was near to be torn down but was repaired in 1864-67.

This new church in Skärkind was built in 1835-36.

Stjärnorp church is located in the south wing of Stjärnorp Castle, built in 1658-61.
The castle and church were destroyed in 1789 in a devastating fire. The church was rebuilt the same year.

Vreta Kloster
The first nunnery in Sweden was founded here in the 12th century.
At that time the stone church was already built. The roof is from the 18th century.

in the middle of the 12th century. The tower was added 1753-54.

Östra Harg
Part of the church is from the last part of the 12th century. It was rebuilt in the 15th century
and in the 18th a wooden tower was removed. The present tower was built 1885.

The walls are in principle from the Middle Ages (1100),
but the exterior is from 1775-77, when the tower was built.

Östra Skrukeby
A wooden church was replaced by a stone church in the 12th century.
Of that church the south east part remains. It was rebuilt during the 13th and 15th centuries.
The round chapel was added in the 17th century.
The medieval tower was removed in 1863.
