WILL OF JOHN LONDON

This twenty day of ye Eight month Caled august in ye year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy and eight I, John London of the township of Little Eggharbor in the County of Burlington in the Province of West New Jersey Blacksmith Being sick and very weak in Bodey but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God theirfore calling to mind mortality and Believing that is to say it is appointed to all men once to die I do surely (?) make ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say (?) and first of all I Recommend my soul into the hand of God that gave it and for my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christean deaceant manner at the Discration of my Executers hearinafter named and touching (?) such worldly Estate whichever (?) it hath pleased God to Bless me with in life. I do give and (?) (?) Dispose (?) of (?) the same in the following manner and form (?) (?) it is my Will and I do order that in the first place all my just Debts and Charges be paid and satisfied--Item-- I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth London my wedded wife all my mmoveable Estate after my just debts be Paid; to be hir own to Dispose of as she Doth see fit like (?) of (?) the best Room in the house that we alone (?) in: Item. I give to my son Edward London the sum of one Pound it being the full (?) I entend for him as (?) (?) as an Eir on the Estate heareafter--Item. I give and Bequeath unto my son John London all of my Blacksmiths tools but he to Pay the Sum of one Pound to my above named son Edward at my deceast (?) and the sum of Six Pounds at the Expiration of two (?) years after to my Executors for the (?) (?) (?) sons namely Joseph and Isaiah London the money so received by Executors is to be put out at interest till my two sons arive at the age of twenty and one Each to receive the money and interest Item. I do ordin Constitute appoint Peter Wever and Joseph Wever both of Egg harbor to be my (?) and (?) Executors to this my Last Will and Testament and they the executors to (?) the lot of land and the two lots of salt march with all the improvements theiron that is to say the lot whitch we (?) (?) on except that whitch is all ready disposed of: Item-they the above named Peter and Joseph Wever to Pay or Cause to be Paid the sum of money due to John Ridgway Son of John Ridgway Deceased a Court of Premises (?)--

John Gaunt one of the witnesses to the above will being duly affirmed according to Law doth declare that he was present and saw John London the Testator therein named sign and seal the same and heard him (?) pronounce and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament. That at the doing thereof the said Testator was of sound mind and memory as far as he knows and verily believes. Also that Daniel Shourds and Timothy Pharo the other witnesses whose names are subscribed were present at the same time and signed their names as witnesses to the said Will together with this Affirmant in the presence of said Testator

Peter Wever and Joseph Wever the Executers (?) (?) (?) this Testament named being duly affirmed according to Las do declare that the within writing is the true Last Will and Testament of John London the Testator there in named as far as they know and as they verily believe that they will well and truly perform the same by paying the debts of sd decd and then the (?) in the said Testament specified so far as the Estate of sd decd will thereto extend that they will make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of said and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of sd decd that have and will come to their knowledge or possession or to the possession of any other person or persons for their use and render a just and true account of their Executorship when thereto lawfully required

John Gaunt one of the Appraisors of the Goods and Chattels in this above Inventory specified doth on his solem Affirmation according to Law declare that the same was by him appraised according to their just and true Rates and values after the best of his judgment and understanding. That Jonathan Pettit the other appraisor was present and consented in all things in the doing thereof and that they appraised all things that were brot to their view for appraisment
