Rites Held Sunday for Cade Maynard

Funeral services for Cade Maynard, 73-year-old Saline Mines resident, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the General Baptist church in Shawneetown with the Rev. James Riley officiating. Interment was in Hogan cemetery with arrangements by the Wright funeral home.

Mr. Maynard's death occurred on Friday result of a heart condition. He had been in failing health for about three years and had been in the hospital for treatment prior to his death.

Deceased was the son of the late Cade and Lee Joyner Maynard and was born in Pope County on November 10, 1881. He was united in marriage to Ethel Capeheart on December 7, 1907. He was later married to Mary Mull.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Golda) Isgrigg of Los Angeles and Mrs. Charles (Ellen) Wentz of Carrier Mills; and two sons, Elmer of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Herman Maynard of Kankakee. He also leaves two brothers, Loren and Harold of Pittsburg, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Willoughby of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Edith Howard of Galatia. There are  eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Note: Questionable age or birth date. If Cade was born in 1881, he would have been 73 in 1954. I know that he died in the mid-Sixties.
