"Gilbert Morris Cox, born August 17, 1887, at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, died at the Fullerton Hospital, February 10, 1968. The oldest son of Jacob W. and Elizabeth M. King Cox. Married Emma C. Peterson on January 29, 1913....
"They lived on the Cox family farm east of Cedar Rapids until moving to town in 1941. G.M. (Bert) was the 3rd generation of the family to own and live on the homestead.
"Bert was the president of the Cedar Rapids State Bank from the time of its organization in June 1936 until his death. He was a director of the Farmers Cooperative Elevator for many years. Was on the town and school boards. Served on the Selective Service Board. Was Chairman of the Boone County Democratic Party for several years. He was active in civic affairs and always an interested and enthusiastic supporter for the betterment of the community..."

Took care of her parents during their invalid years. Did practical nuring at various times, working at Genoa Hospital, and in private homes at Elgin, Minden, Kearney and Cedar Rapids. For a short time she worked as bookkeeper in the Cedar Rapids Statae Bank. On Jun 4, 1959, married W. J. (Jeff) McPheeters, at Cedar Rapids. They made their home in Inglewood, California for a few years before moving back to Cedar Rapids. Jeff died March 3, 1974. Clarie was a resident of Clover Lodge Care Home from October 1974 until her death."
