The Leslie Family
Jeremiah Larkins Leslie was the son of Thomas Leslie, the brother of Robert, the father of the artist. He was a millwright by trade, and in the early part of the present century carried on a nail factory at Marley. He subsequently became a Methodist Protestant preacher and removed to the State of Ohio. He was the father of Mary Leslie who married Charles Johnson, from whom the Johnsons of North East and vicinity have descended.

In the book "The Planters of the Commonwealth", page 119, an ElizabethScott, age 9, traveled with parents Thomas and Elizabeth (both 40), andsiblings Abigail (7) and Thomas (6) aboard the ELIZABETH, of Ipswich,William Andrews Master. She sailed from Ipswich 'bound for New Englandand last of April, 1634,' and arrived in July at Boston. They are listed'of Rattlesden, county Suffolk, were to settle in Watertown.
