Appendix, Containing Additions and Corrections.

Griswold, Edward, Windsor, had children, viz. Ann, baptized in 1642, Maryin '44, (married Timothy Phelps,) Deborah in '46, (married Samuel Buell,)Joseph in '47, Samuel in '49, and John in '50. George Griswold marriedMary Holcomb, and had Daniel, Thomas, Edward, Mary, George, John,Benjamin, Deborah, and Abigail, the last in '76. In '81 the GeneralAssembly appointed John Tully and Abraham Post, to lay out several grantsof land to Edward Griswold, of Kennelworth, and Matthew Griswold, ofLyme, 400 acres of land, which was laid out to them jointly in the northpart of Lyme. This Edward was probably the son of John, who emigrated toKillingworth. George and Edward were the first settlers at Poquonnock, inWindsor. (See Thomas Holcomb.) Lieut. Francis, of Norwich, in 1660,appears to have been a distinct family from those of Edward, Matthew, orSamuel, of Windsor. He appears to have come from Massachusetts direct toNorwich as his first location in the colony--perhaps the same Francis whowas at Cambridge in 1637. (See Farmer.)--Joseph, son of Edward, sen'r.,married Mary Gaylord in 1675, and had Mary and Joseph. John, son ofEdward, sen'r., settled at Killingworth, or Hammonasett. Samuel, (in No.1,) died in 1672--had a daughter, Plumb, and a daughter, Butler.
