Charles lynch's Virginia Regiment, and was at the battle of Guilford. Sept 1, 1781 he enlisted again and served two months as private in Claptain David Beard's Company, Colonel William Trigg's Virginia Regiment and was at the siege of Yorktown. He between 1812 and 1816 in Franklin County Viirginia. He died on 23 Jun 1843 in , Wayne, Kentucky. In 1817 James moved tgo Wayne County Kentucky. Suffering from palsy, he applied for a veteran's pension 25 Sept 1832, which was granted. Betsey applied for a widow's pension in Spet 1843 which was also granted. In 1845 she was living with her daughter. He passed the closing years of his life in Marshall township, and his wife died in Ohio. They became the parents of six children, namely: Lewis, who is a resident of Cedar Rapids, Neb.; Pauline, who died in Ohio; Mary, who became the wife of John Robinson, both being residents of Cedar Rapids, Neb., at the time of their death; Charles is a telegraph operator and resides in Quincy, Ill.; Clarkson met his death while serving as a soldier in the Civil War, dying near Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Kepler is the youngest of the children.
