OBITUARY:
The Daily Report Ontario, California, Monday Evening, May 6, 1940 page one,
column 4:
Death takes Mrs. Heitzel Pioneer of City is Summoned - Miss Susan Heltzel,
401 East Carlton Street, Ontario pioneer died early today at a San
Bernardino hospital following a long illness at the age of 87 years.
A native of Indiana, Miss Heitzel had resided in Ontario for 50 years,
having come here from Avalon, Mo.
Surviving the octogenarian are two sisters, Mrs. Abraham H. Tritch and
Mrs. John Estep, Ontario; two nieces, Miss Geneva Tritch and Miss Geneva
Heltzel, Ontario, and a nephew Ernest Estep, Burbank. She was a member of
the First Methodist church.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow, 10:30 a.m. at the Richardson
mortuary, 123 West G. street, with the Rev. Arthur E. Schultz of the First
Methodist church and the Rev. M.T. Brandyberry of the First Nazarene church
officiating. Interment will be in Bellev[u]e cemetery.
