OBITUARY:
Obituary of Leah Smead from the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, 24 Oct 1966:Mrs. Leah Smead, 86, of Grabill, R.R. 2, Cedar Creek Township, died at 2 p.m. yesterday at Parkview Memorial Hospital where she had need a patient 13 days.Mrs. Smead was the oldest member of the Leo Mennonite Church.Surviving are six sons, Louis, Canton, Ohio; Arthur, Fort Wayne; Charles, grabill; Oscar, East St. Louis, ILL.; William, Fort Wayne; and Robert, Grabill; five daughters, Mrs Bessie Hursh, Leo; Mrs Leah Reigsecker, Archbold, Ohio; Mrs Mary Meinerding, Grabill; Mrs. Iva Yoder, Ney, Ohio; and Mrs. Florence Furney, Malinta, Ohio; 31 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Leo Mennonite Church, Rev. Carl Ruby officiating, with burial in Yaggy Cemetery near Grabill.Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at Baidinger and Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville.
