IMMIGRATION: Jacob Rosenbach and his family and possibly his sister Helena, immigrated to America in a quasi-forced relocation of 530 persons from Senheim, Grenderich, Liesenich, Mittelstrimmig and Altstrimmig. In 1852, during a time of great poverty, these 5 communities paid the expense for those poor willing to relocate to America. A letter was written in 2002 by a gentleman hoping to find descendants of those deported.
Jacob Rosenbach and Margarethe nee Michels are listed as passengers on the ship "Oregon", with Captain W. Sirth, departure: 26 May 1852, Arrival: New York, 16 Jul 1852.
