Mr. Townsend married, October 14, 1869, Mary Tindall, daughter of Charlesand Louise (Tindall) Heller, and a great-granddaughter of Jacob Heller,(born March 6, 1750, died October 8, 1822) who served as lieutenant ofthe Seventh Company, Fifth Battalion, Northampton County Militia, in theRevolutionary War, and afterwards as a captain in the Second Battalion ofthe same county, in whose right Mrs. Townsend is a Daughter of theAmerican Revolution. Mr. and Mrs. Townsend have one daughter, MarieLouise Townsend.
