Maria Christiana Sophia Ernestine Meese Gimpel

Born November 29th, 1834 in Waren, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, Mary immigrated to North America
around Sept. 1865, at the age of 31, with her younger sister Maria Dorothea Ernestine Meese.
A few months later she was married to Johann Gottfried Gimpel, in Michigan City, LaPort, Indiana.
John and Mary had two sons and one daughter, Eliza, who is my Great Grandmother.

In Mary's declining years she became blind, and her daughter Eliza took care of her.
In Roeskeville, Indiana, Mary passed away on March 4, 1917, at the age of 82.
