Helen was born Jan. 27, 1906 in Friend, Saline, Nebraska, to James Edward Whitcomb and Lucy Maude Miller,
being the eldest of 4 children. At 15, her family moved to Long Beach, CA., and she married at age 18
on Mar 7, 1924 to Leslie Robinson, who was 12 years her senior. Together they had a daughter and a son.
During WWII Helen was a paint inspector for Douglas Aircraft for 2 years. She also ran the Helendale guest ranch
by herself for 17 years. Helen was a remarkable cook and excellent homemaker.
She passed away Sept. 4, 1989 in Laguna Hills, CA, at the age of 83, 14 years after the passing of her husband.

Helen had an extensive antique doll collection.
This picture was taken at her home in Laguna Hills, CA, circa 1983, age 77.
Helen didn't start painting until her senior years, but definitely had a talent for it.
Most of the following oil paintings grace the home of her son.
