Hannah Fletcher Whitcomb

Hannah was born Sept. 11, 1843 in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania to Henry Fletcher and Lydia Maria VanAuken,
being the 3rd of 13 children. She became the second wife of Edward A. Whitcomb on Dec. 10, 1865 in
Polo, Ogle, Illinois, at the age of 22. Together she and Edward had 7 children. She may have been the
first woman postmaster in Nebraska?? Hannah passed away June 5, 1917, in Friend, Saline, Nebraska at the
age of 73.
