Eliza Augusta Gimpel Yochem

Eliza (nickname "Alice" on her father's will) was born June 4, 1868 in Michigan City, Indiana, the 3rd of 4 children,
from parents who immigrated from Germany. October 24, 1893, at the age of 25, Eliza wed John Mathias Yochem,
with whom she had one child, Orville. The family moved around quite a lot, as John could not stand to stay
in one place for long. Eliza must have been very independent, as quite a few times she lived on her own with Orville
while her husband was off land speculating and such, and twice she lived in Indiana to care for her mother.
Eliza brought in work as a seamstress.
