head shot of Leslie Robinson
Leslie was born Dec. 9, 1895 in Cedar City, Boone, Nebraska to John Thomas Robinson and Ida May Minker,
being the 4th child and son of 7 children. A plasterer by trade, he moved from Nebraska to sunny California,
and was later followed by others in his family. On March 7, 1924, at the age of 28, he married Helen M'liss
Whitcomb in Santa Ana, CA. Together they had two children: a daughter and a son.
Leslie fought in WWI for the Army for one year, serving in Germany and France.

In 1926, they moved to Citrus Heights, CA, where the family had an almond grove. However, after 4 years the property
was lost during the depression because they couldn't pay the mortgage. Next they noved to Lake County
(Niece) where they owned property, and lived there for 11-12 years. They then moved to Long Beach for 4 years
or so, after which they bought a guest ranch in Helendale, CA, where they lived and worked for about 17 years.
In "retirement" they owned & managed an appartment house in Ontario, CA for several years, until they moved to
Leisure Village, a retirement community in Laguan Hills, CA. Leslie passed away July 25, 1975 at the age of 79.
