Casper Cronister's Tombstone

Casper was born August 15, 1811 in Reading, Adams, PA to Casper Chronister and Maria Helena, the 9th of 11 children.
(Casper has a brother with the same name, who died in infancy.) By 1846 Casper had moved to Illinois, where he
married Martha Stewart on Feb. 15th in Adams county. Their first 7 children were born while they lived in
in Gilmer Twp, Adams, Illinois or possibly Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois. In 1861 their 8th child was born in
Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, where the family is believed to have remained. In all Casper and Mary had 13 children.
Casper was a farmer, and owned at least 30 acres in Missouri. He died October 4, 1879 at the age of 68.

Avalon Cemetery is located in SEction 24, Township 56, Range 23 of Fairview Township in Livingston County, Missouri.
It is located from Chillicothe, 8miles South on Highway 65, 2 miles East on Route H,
then 1/2 mile South on a gravel road at Junction H and JJ in Avalon.
It is in excellent condition, fenced and maintained.
