Mann (and Kise)
| Clementine Griffith Mann |
Elizabeth Clementine Mann's grandparents were John Mann and Clementine Griffith. According to story, Clementine Griffith was a small child when she came to the United States from England. She was accompanied by her mother, who died on the journey and was buried at sea. Clementine was raised by an older sister who was already here.
Barbara Kise, wife of Amos Mann and mother of Elizabeth, lived all of her life in the tiny village. The Mann's lived there for quite some time as well. In the 1880 Federal Census the Mann's and Kise's were neighbors and the families seemed to have known each other. There was also a second Kise family which lived in Washingtonboro and I have included some information on them.
In March, 2001, a visit was made to Washingtonboro. The main cemetery, adjacent to both the Church of God and United Methodist churches was walked with notations of the Kise, Mann and Steiner graves. They are listed here.

| Catherine and Barbara Kise |

There was a second Kise family living in Washingtonboro and, although none has been found, there may be a connection between the two families so a simple family tree has been constructed. The information was provided by Carrie Kise Leschke and Mae Kise Peters.
Henry Kise had red hair. Although married to Sarah (Sally) Ortmann, he fathered a lot of children out of wedlock. Sarah died fairly young. Children by Sarah:
