2. Patrick McClaughry. Born ca 1708 in Ireland. Patrick died on 7/24/1787, he was 79.
It is believed Patrick traveled alone with the Clinton Party on the 1729 voyage of the George and Ann. He settled on the Johnston Patent, near the Little Britain Church, on the farm lately owned by Col. James Denniston, his grandson. He owned the land the Little Britain Church stands on, and deeded it to the congregation in 1765. He was a Sergeant in Ulster County Militia of 1738 - foot company of Militia of the presenk of the Highland under the cammand of Captain Thomas Ellison. May have been a brother of Thomas McClaughry of Cleghill.
Rutenbers History of the Town of New Windsor, page 126 states "The McClaughry family of Little Britain were of the company of immigrants with Charles Clinton in 1729 and at one time were amongst the most numerous and influential in that district. The name has now (1880) however, entirely disappeared there and descendants can only be imperfectly traced in lateral connections. Will of Patrick McClaughry
