It
has been stated that all Drurys and Drewrys descended from Sir
Drieu of Normandy, who 
fought under William the
Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. His Knight's fee was an award
of land near Abbey St. Edmund's in Suffolk. The Drury family
became one of the most prominent families of medieval England,
with at least eighteen Knights, five of whom were Sheriffs of
Norfolk and Suffolk, and four Knights of the Shire.

2. Hugh Drury. Born in 1616 or 17 in London, England. Hugh died in Boston, MA on 6 Jul 1689, he was 73. Buried in Kings Chapel Bur, Boston, MA.
Probably arrived on the Abigail in 1635.

In 1645 when Hugh was 29, he first married Lydia Rice, daughter of Edmund Rice (abt 1594-1663) & Thomasine Frost Aug 1600-6/13/1654), in Sudbury, MA. Born in 1627/1628 in Barkhamstead, Herts, Eng. Lydia died in Sudbury, MA on 5 Apr 1675, she was 48.

iii. Hugh (Died as Child).
iv. Thomas. Born in 1647. Thomas died in 1660, he was 13.

In 1667 when John was 20, he married Mary Weare, daughter of Peter Weare & Ruth Gooch. Born on 18 Jul 1645. Mary died in Boston, MA.

Fought in the war of 1812 and came to Little Britain to
practice medicine in 1818.
Purchased Jesse Parshall's part of the Parshall farm.
Dr. John W. married Jemima Parshall, daughter of Moses Parshall (1777-25 Apr 1818) & Ruth Miller (abt 1785-25 Aug 1875). Born in 1806. Jemima died on 21 Oct 1895, she was 89.
