The preponderance of information on Adam Smith and his family has been provided by U.V. Waldrop. U.V. has done extensive research on the Smith family of which he is a descendant.

     Most of the information on Alfred Virgil Smith was derived through interviews with my father, Sam Houston Smith, my mother, Allie Mae Thompson Smith, my sister, Patsy Virginia Smith Cox and other relatives including Minnie Lee Carpenter, Oren Smith, and Barbara Knox. Rickey Owens-Smith has been very helpful in providing information on Adam Smith, Jacob Smith and Lee J. Smith. Henry Davenport supplied information on Lee J. Smith's second wife, America Crim.
