Immaculate Conception Civil Death Records
West Arichat
Note: Microfilmed at Public Archives of Nova Scotia by the Genealogical Society, Salt Lake City, Utah, 9 Dec 1980. Film Emulsion #1460 119 173 MRD2. Transcribed by Arlene A. MacDonald, March 2004, from microfilm held at Beaton Institute, Sydney, N.S
Special Note: Usually, I do not try to interpret any transcribed records for the group. However, because the West Arichat Deaths are very difficult to place, I offer some thoughts for your consideration. The information should be used only as a guide. If anyone can offer further information, we will certainly appreciate it. Jeanne Belford: jbelford@aol.com

16. Artemise Bonais, age 2, died June 5/67, d/o Pascal Bonais and Victoria Terrio. Cause of death: Scalded with boiling water.
(Suggest this person is Apr. 8/65 A. Bonais, d/o Pascal Bonais and Victoire Terrio and that the family name is Benoit.)

18. Emily Elizabeth Fougere, age 15 days, died Oct. 28/67, d/o Charlie Fougere and Charlotte Meunier. Cause of death: Croup

21. This next entry faint to the point of being almost totally illegible. I could make out that the child was 1 day old, and died Mar. 7/67, child of L. Sampson?
(The Civil Birth Records for 1867 do not contain a record for a child born 7 Mar 1867)
22. Louise DesLaurier, age 1 years, died Dec. 29/67, child of Charles DesLaurier and Esther Boudrot. Cause of death: Croup
