My name is Julia Anne Cote.
I am the eldest daughter and child of Joseph
Cote from Glace Bay and Gladys Pate from River Bourgeois. My family moved
from Dartmouth when I was a wee child and we moved to the Northern Ontario
city of Sudbury where my Dad worked hard in the mines. My parents instilled
in us the need for an education and all seven of us went on to higher
learning.
I have three children from my first marriage and now have two beautiful
step
children from my second marriage. My husband Eric is also a from the
east
coast provinces. He is currently recuperating from a mild stroke and
has
recently retired from GM in Oshawa. I myself have a few years before
I can
retire because of the time I took off to raise my children.
My Cote family was originally from a small town in Quebec called Le Bic.
Because of this and the Acadian connection through my Acadian Mother
I am
related to half the world. My Father's Mother was a Mullins from
Main a Dieu so that takes care of the other half.
I have been working on my genealogy since 1985 and it is the most wonderful
hobby in the world. The people I have met have enriched my life because
of
their generosity and graciousness. There are wonderful cousins out there
and
the ones that I have connected with are in my heart
The families that I am researching are Pate, Sampson, Rehberg, Burkes
(both
Irish and French), Mullins, Gallants, Briand, Cote (from Glace Bay via
NY,USA via Quebec), Boudrot, Dugas and many others .
