| During World War II, a soldier and a North Sydney girl
had a daughter in Halifax - it was me! My elementary and high school
education took place in Halifax too. After graduation from High School,
I received a secretarial diploma from Halifax Vocational School.
For several years, those business skills secured my employment with the
Province of Nova Scotia, at the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology and
the Department of the Attorney-General.

| In the mid '60's, I married a teacher, had a son and
now have three grandchildren. My son and I attended school at the same
time, he at Junior High and I at Mt. St. Vincent for a BA with Honours
in Psychology and a major in Religious Studies. While a university
student, Mt. St. Vincent employed me as a research assistant for various
professors doing research on moral development in seniors and teenagers
and the study of reading skills in elementary children. Simultaneously,
management of the department which oversaw student evaluation of professors
was my responsibility. Upon completion of my degree, I worked
as a Research Assistant at the same university, for a number of years doing
psychometric testing of battered
women'schildren, while they occupied transition houses. These tests were in preparation for the children's group therapy. My ordination to full-time ministry and subsequent appointment to an assistant pastorship in a Hants Country church came after this period. While pastoring at this church, I taught in our denomination's Bible College. |
| After my husband's retirement, we both became interested
in genealogy. It is a relatively new field for both of us and the more
we learn the more we need to know. We both suspect that we will be
mesmerized by the subject for a long time. So who am I really and what
are my strongest interests at this stage of my life? I love my painting,
Religious Studies and research. I am an ordained "Miss Marple" at
heart.
