| My name is Mary Anne (Landry) Black and I am the middle
daughter of Ray Landry(s/o Charles E. Landry and Florence Boucher) and
Nancy Murphy(d/o Harold Murphy and Nellie Veinot). I have an older sister
Donna who lives in Fall River, N.S. and a younger sister Lynn who lives
in Alberta.
I entered elementary school here in Waverley and graduated
high school in Sackville in 1974. My 30 year Junior High School reunion
is this summer. I hope it will be as much fun as the Summit was last summer!

| Dad was born and raised in River Bourgeois and
Mom in Halifax. He left the ‘River’ to work for Imperial Oil
when he was 17. They were married in 1952 and raised my two sisters and
I in Waverley, Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1954 and
was lucky enough not to have to travel while in the Armed Forces.
We spent part of our summer vacation in River Bourgeois
every year and I will always remember the wonderful times my sisters and
I had playing in my grandmothers barn and meeting all our cousins.
We were always known as Raymond’s girls from Halifax.

I married a great guy from Bedford in 1984. Barry
and I have one child, Aaron who is 15 years old.
It was a school project that Aaron brought home on Family
History that got me interested in genealogy. That was about 4 years
ago and the information I have gathered spans many lifetimes.
I am researching the surnames Landry, Boucher, Fougere
and Poirier.
