| Maria Catherine (Pâté) Heemskerk, Born in
Halifax Nova Scotia.
Lived in South Bar, Cape Breton for short while, then my family moved to BC in 1950 where my father worked for the Canadian Army, Signal Corps. |
| Visited many times to Halifax, Cape Breton, especially
Lower L'Ardoise
where my Grandmother, Kate (Floyd, Pâté) Mombourquette lived with her 2nd husband George Mombourquette, and his sister RoseAnne Mombourquette. |
| I am particularly interested in finding the original Jean Pâté who married Claire Langlois in 1738.....where he came from, where they married, where their son, Jean Marie Pâté was born. I am also researching all the families connected to this name, as well as CASEY, FLOYD from Antigonish and Sidney, MERLIN, MACDONALD and CHISHOLM from Antigonish, as well as HINES from Cow Bay Cape Breton and TRACEY from CAPE BRETON. |
| At present, I work on researching all these families, am active in our Catholic Parish, love being Acadian, and Irish, and Scottish too....just a wee bit of that! |
| My husband Tony works for the BC Government, and we have
three children Matt, just finished Law School at Dal and is returning to
Vancouver to article, Laura going into 4th year Medicine, and Coleen getting
ready to go to Holland as an International Student in Agriculture, Sustainable
development (food for the world).
Tony and I live in Victoria, and love it. We love to travel, especially to Nova Scotia....I love to scour graveyards anywhere, especially France and Ireland, Nova Scotia, and he helps me. |
| Besides Genealogy, one of my favourite activities is
shopping.....watch
out! Mostly I love life and meeting people especially on Isle Madame.
