Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, April 24, 1935 to George Charles Rose Sr. of Halifax and Mary Louise Langlois of D'Escousse, Isle Madame, NS. I have a younger sister Patricia Louise Ann and a younger  brother Hubert Joseph Edward. Attended Alexander McKay Elementary and Jr. High School from 1941 to  1951. High School, St. Mary's, Jesuit run from 1951 to 1952. Halifax Vocational School now called Nova  Scotia Community College, 1952 to 1954, Diploma in Drafting. My first recollection of home is when we lived in the Hydrostone at 9 Sebastion Place, moved in 1948 to our own home, 320 Agricola St.. Summer of 1952 worked for 3 months at Moirz candy manufacturing plant as an office assistant. Worked for the Provincial Dept. of Transportation from Sept. 13 1954 to July 10, 1960 as a Draftsman and Engineering  Technologist.
In 1955 I met my wife Vivian Marie Langlois. In 1958 the family moved to
Chebuctou Rd. in Halifax. I was married to Vivian, May 20, 1961 at St. Pius
X Catholic Church in Halifax and we moved into our new home on Irene Ave. in Lower Sackville NS. We had two children, Lea Anne born June 1 1964 and Anthony Charles born July 10, 1968. In 1964 we moved to a recently purchased triplex, 88 Adelaide Ave. in Fairview, Halifax, NS. In October 1972 we purchased and moved into a single family dwelling at 65 Tangmere Cres., Halifax, our present home.
From July 11, 1960 to retirement on Oct. 4, 1990, worked for the Federal
Government, Regional Office for Parks Canada in the Architectural and Engineering Section. First hired on as a Draftsman but for most of  those years as an Engineering Technologist. For the last 5 years held the position of Chief Surveyor. Parks Canada looks after all the National and Historic Sites and Parks in Atlantic Canada, the Provinces  of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. I worked in every National Park, Historic Site and Park that the Department operated. The project that I will be remembered for is the rebuilding of the Old Town Clock on Citadel Hill from 1960 to 61, it is the landmark building in Halifax.

I travelled quite extensively for about 20 years and during the Summer the family would travel with me and we lived in a travel trailer during this time.
 

Accepted by Archbishop James M. Hayes into the Halifax Diocese Permanent
Diaconate Formation  Program on July 23, 1981. Studied with various tutors
and at The Atlantic School of Theology from 1981 to 1985. Ordained a
Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church by Archbishop Hayes, Dec. 14, 1985. Have served the Archdiocese in various capacities and to the present as Pastoral Assistance at St. Pius  X Catholic Church, 165 Coronation Ave., Halifax. Since 1985 have been a Chaplain at the Fairview Villa,  a 208 bed Home For Special Care (Nursing Home), from  1985 to 1990 a Chaplain at the Metro Substance Abuse  Centre. My fondest memories so far of this part of my life was taking part in the  marriage of our daughter in British Colombia in 1988 and baptizing my first grandchild in 1992 and the actual marrying of my son in 1994 and the baptizing of his first child Shea Lynn Rose in 1997.
For the last few years we have been the proud grandparents to Kyle and Meghan McLeod, our daughters  two children. They lived in Abbotsford, BC, until 1998. Lea Anne is a nurse and works for VON in Halifax.
In the summeer of 1998 Lea Anne and her family moved back to Nova Scotia. I traveled to British Columbia and helped with their move to Nova Scotia mostly in driving their car to NS.
Our son Anthony "Tony" is a graduate Mechanical Engineer. He lives in New
Glasgow, N.S.  with his wife Bonita "Bonnie". For 5 years he was a Junior Project Engineer at the Trenton Works, they manufacture railroad cars. In the Fall of 200 he took the position of Department Head Trades and Technology at the Nova Scotia Community College Picto Campus in Stellarton. They have a daughter Shea Lyn Faith Rose born in 1997.
An avid camper we still have a trailer which has been located north of Halifax in Shubenacadie since  1980. Have spent several months during the Winters of 1991 to 1994 in Bonita Springs, Florida.
My mother having been born in Cambridge, Mass, USA, and being eligible, I
became an American citizen  on January 9, 1996. This gives me dual citizenship. We enjoy family and do some travelling, in the  Spring of 1995 we travelled by car to British Colombia via a number of US states returning through  Canada.

I also enjoy computers and genealogy.
