I was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada and raised in Southern Ontario, Port Credit, Lakeview or what is now called Mississauga. My parents left the Maritimes as so many before, for a better life for their family.

I married my husband Robert Neale in April of 1986, left my career in
Transportation for his in Forestry. We moved to Northern Ontario, where he works for the Ministry of Natural Resources. As you can see by the information below, we started our family later than some, therefore I now have a 2 ½ year old, a 4 ½ year old and a 7 ½ year old at home. This makes for an interesting time working on genealogy, especially when my youngest, Jonathon decides that my lap looks good.

Since having children I have become a domestic goddess (stay-at-home-mom). I enjoy this role, but it is the hardest one I have had to date. Living away from family makes it harder, easier, I am not sure.

I was a Girl Guide leader until my eldest, Nathaniel was about 2 ½ but decided that camping trips without my little one were a little hard to take. I am now quite involved in my religion, Catholicism and participate in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration once a week.

My main focus outside my family is our local Food Bank, due to the age of my children I am unable to do very much but I keep them in raffle tickets, signs and when I can I help to sort clothing. Our local Food Bank is "self sustaining" one of very few, they run a perpetual garage sale in order to meet the costs of rent, buying food etc. All the garage sale items are donated and sold. The Cochrane Food Bank is run by a very dedicated "Volunteer Staff" with only two people on the payroll.

I enjoy writing poetry, which some people believe to be quite good. I on the other hand do it mostly for release and to document my life and that of those around me.

I had the honour of walking on the beautiful "sacred" ground of Isle Madame the summer of 2001, I missed the Summit by one week (I was not a happy camper). My father finally got to see were his mother was born, were his Uncle Arthur had his store and to meet some absolutely incredible people. He felt as I did ,"like I just came home". It was an experience of a lifetime which I hope to do again.

The Isle Madame List server has given me the opportunity to "meet" family. Bobby Martel's grandfather & my grandmother were brother and sister, mind you getting the info out of Bobby at first was like pulling teeth, now you can't get him to......Kidding Bobby!
