MIDDLESBORO - Curtis Lawson, 80, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Claiborne County Hospital, Tazewell, Tenn.
He was born at Blanche, Ky., the son of William "Doc" Lawson and Mary Jones Lawson. He was member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Henry Lawson; one brother, William Lawson; and a grandson, Timothy Dewayne Lawson.
Survivors include Curtis Lawson and Tammy Baker, Middlesboro, Clayton and Tammy Lawson, Williamsburg, Ky., Farmer Lawson and Ann Maiden, Pineville, Dewey and Carol Lawson Rice, Arjay, Ralph and Charlotte Lawson Upton, Middlesboro, Steve and Cheryl Lawson, Laurel Hill, and William and Linda Lawson Layne, Arjay; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a host of brothers and sisters, and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home with the Rev. Irving Gipson presiding.
Burial will be in Big Jim Cemetery at Arjay. Pallbearers will be Curtis Lawson Jr., Curtis Ray Lawson, Clayton Jason Lawson, Clayton Jr. Lawson, Farmer Douglas Lawson, Derick Jackson, Justin Layne, Christopher Layne, and Terry Baker. Middlesboro - Manford Lawson, 83, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006, at the Middlesboro ARH Hospital.
He was born in Beverly on May 16, 1922, the son of the late Wesley and Lizzie Saylor Lawson. He had been a coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ceph Lawson, Matt Lawson, Boyd Lawson, Dora Baker, Anna Brummett and Susie Roark.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dora Lawson of Middlesboro; sons, Phillip Lawson and wife, Kathy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Lawson and wife, Charlotte of Pineville, Roy Lawson and Deb of Middlesboro, Jerry Lawson and wife, Linda of Middlesboro, Alton Lawson and wife, Erica of Wheeling, Ill., and Greg Lawson and wife, Albany of Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter, Virginia Lefevers and husband, Freddie of Kettle Island; grandchildren, Phillip Lawson, Chris Lawson, Charles Lawson, Falinia Lawson, Brandie Stamper, Todd Bertram, Michele Bertram, Lauren Lawson, Michael Lawson, Alisa Lawson, Ryan Lawson and Anita Barton; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Lawson, Alexis Barton, Alex Barton, Aaron Lawson, Eric Lawson, Nicole Lawson, Austin Lawson; brother, Ed Lawson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

ARJAY — Shirley Marie Lingar Lawson received the keys to the Kingdom on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.
She was born March 27, 1945, and was the daughter of Charlie Lingar and Minnie Lingar. She believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Harrogate Christian Tabernacle Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ersie Jean Lingar; brother, Charles Simpson Jr.; great-grandchild, Alena Taylor.

PINEVILLE -- Aaron Christopher James Lefevers, age six weeks, passed away Sunday morning, April 5, 1991, at his home.
He was the son of Gary and Terri Woolum Lefevers, and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one grandmother, Gracie Woolum.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Angela Christine Lefevers; grandparents, Herbert Woolum, Chester and Betty Lefevers; several aunts and uncles, Mechille and Allen Burke, Tim Saylor, Angela Hensley, Vickie and Carl Jordan, Melanie Melton, John Lefevers, Sharon Simpson; several cousins and other relatives; and special friends, Vickie and Keith Asher.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Revs. Irvin Gipson, William Collett Jr., and Dale Turner presiding. Burial was in Jenson Cemetery.

Mrs. William Lefevers Dies at Kettle Island
Airy Catherine Lefevers, 64 years old, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Storms, Kettle Island, Friday. Funeral services were held at the Kettle Island Baptist Church Monday with the service conducted by the Rev. J C Daniel and the Rev. Camie Elliott. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. cemetery under direction of Durham Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Dewey Mosley, Grant Collett, Elisha Collett, Henderson Hubbard, Pearl Hubbard, and John Jones.
Survivors include her husband William Lefevers and the following children:

Funeral services for Alifair Lefevers were conducted at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Thursday, Feb. 21, 1974, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Thea O. Carter, Otto Brock, and W.B. Bingham officiating. Burial was in the Burning Springs Cemetery, Straight Creek.
She was born March 19, 1883, the daughter of the late Jim and Beston Gross.

STONEY FORK -- Alma Irene Lefevers, 74, died Friday, Aug. 31, 1990, at Pineville Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Knox County, Ky., daughter of the late O.E. Herrin and Virginia Parker Herrin. A member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, she was retired from the Pineville Community Hospital and was a member of the Bell County Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cam Lefevers, Oct. 18, 1985; three brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Survivors include three daughters, Lawanda Brock and Sue Couch, both of Stoney Fork, and Gail Brock, Kettle Island; one brother, Marvin Herrin, Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michael Brock, Pam Collett, Jana Caruson, with whom they made their home, Greg Brock, Stacie Couch, and Jason Couch; special friend, Anna Baker, Stoney Fork; six great-grandchildren, Mark, Heather, Amanda, Abbie, Justin, and Kristen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were at 12 p.m. Monday at Mill Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ray Collett and Ronald Howard officiating. Music was provided by Mill Creek Church choir, Irvin Gipson and Mickey Wilder.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Amanda LeFevers, 75, of Brodhead, died Monday, March 16, 1998 at the Sowder Nursing Home in Brodhead. She was born on February 9, 1923 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late John and Amanda Osborne Kincer, Sr. She was a retired teacher for the Rockcastle School System and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Eugene LaFevers of Brodhead; two sons, Larry E. and John L. LaFevers, both of Brodhead; one brother, Curtis Kincer of Las Vegas, Nevada and one grandchild, John LaFevers of Brodhead. She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Thursday, March 19, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Lefevers a life-long resident of Bell County died at her home at Kettle Island Sunday, August 27, at 11:20 a.m. at the age of 75 year. She was born January 24, 1886 in Bell County, the daughter of the late Newt Elliott of Bell County and Mary Rhimes of Arkansas. Mrs. Lefevers was the wife of the late Noah Lefevers of Kettle Island.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Simpson, London, Ky., Mrs. Maxine Brock, Barrett, W. Va; and Mrs. Eliza Lefevers, Kettle Island; three sons, Newt Lefevers, Pineville; Walter Lefevers, Tenn.; and Martin Lefevers, Cincinnati; thirty-four grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Howard, Wallins Creek, Ky.; and Mrs. Sallie Cox, St. Augustine, Fla.
Funeral services were held at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, August 29 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating. Pallbearers were Cecil Wilson, Elihu Lewis, Paul Elliott, Arthur Ray Lefevers, Wilburn Saylor, Walter Lawson, George Simpson and Harry Simpson. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Mr. Arnold (Bud) Lefevers, age 76, a resident of Cary, Ky., passed away Friday, February 27, 1987 at the Pineville Community Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1910 in Bell County, Ky., the son of the late Wilce Lefevers and Mary Goodin Lefevers. He was joined in holy matrimony at Cary, Ky., July 29, 1929 to Miss Beatrice Taylor, daughter of Bill and Annie Lowe Taylor. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Taylor Lefevers, Cary; four daughters: Mrs. Marie Secen, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Shirley Hollingsworth, Pineville, Ky.; Mrs. Lotetta Klinger, Girardsville, Pa.; Miss Muriel Lefevers, Cary; seven sons: Joe Ray Lefevers, Wilce Lefevers, Lavern Lefevers, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Harold Lefevers, Mike Lefevers, Glenn Lefevers, and Larry Lefevers, all of Cary; one brother, Lloyd Lefevers, Harlan, Ky.; two sisters: Miss Flora Lefevers, Arjay, Ky.: Mrs. Ethel Southern, Middlesboro, Ky.; 55 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Lefevers werre at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 1987 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Allen Lord and Marshall Reynolds. Burial followed in the Pinelawn Cemetery, (Laurel Hill) Pineville, Ky. His grandsons served as pallbearers.

Arthur Ray Lefevers, 60, of Crystal River, Fla., died Wednesday, July, 19, 1989. He was born in Kettle Island, Ky., and came to Crystal River 17 years ago from Pineville, Ky.
Mr. Lefevers was an electrician, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, William Lefevers, Crystal River; three daughters, Mrs. Brenda Freeman, Tampa, Mrs. Marshall Herring, Petaluma, CA, and Mrs. Frances Gillette, Crystal River; two brothers, Mr. Clifford Lefevers, Gibraltor, MI, and Mr. Silas Lefevers, Upland, CA; and two grandchildren.
Direct cremation was held under the direction of Inverness Chapel, of Hopper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lefevers, Owner of Jewelry Store Dies Thursday
PINEVILLE -- Arthur Lefevers, owner and operator of Lefevers Jewelry Store, died Thursday, Aug. 3 at Pineville Community Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 58.
Mr. Lefevers, who resided at Log Mountain, was a native of Bell County and the son of the late henry and Maggie Hawkins Lefevers.
He operated his own jewelry store for several years and later become associated with the A. Rector Jewelry Store. Following Mr. Rector's death, Mr. Lefevers purchased the store.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eula Lefevers; five sons, Franklin Lefevers, U.S. Air Force, Howard Lefevers, Johnson City, Tenn., Charles Ray Lefevers, Maryland, and Jerry Wayne and Arthur Lefevers Jr., Pineville; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Richmond, Pineville; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Payne, East Liverpool, Ohio; a half-brother, Luther Turner, Middlesboro, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Durham Funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Gibson and the Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating. Burial was in Pineville Memorial Cemetery.

Cary -- Beatrice Lefevers, 82, passed away Monday, November 20, 1995, at Pineville Community Hospital.
She was born February 28, 1913, at Arjay, a daughter of the late William Taylor and Anna Elizabeth lowe Taylor. She was a homemaker and believed in the Church of God of Prophecy faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold (Bud) Lefevers.
Survivors include seven sons, Joe Ray Lefevers, Wilce Lefevers, Lavern Lefevers, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Harold Lefevers, Mike Lefevers, Glenn Lefevers, Larry Lefevers, all of Cary; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Secen, Somerset,KY, Mrs. Shirley Hollingsworth, Pineville, Mrs. Loretta Klinger, Giradsville, PA and Mrs. Muriel Lefevers of Cary; one brother, Paul Taylor, Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs Dorothy Powell, Corbin, KY, Mrs. Bernice Miller, Wallsend, and 55 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Durham Funeral Home with the Revs. Allen Lord and Marshall Reynolds presiding. Burial was in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens at Laurel Hill.

Lefevers Bill
Man Killed in Mine
Bill Lefevers, 30, Closplint, was killed instantly this morning in the Shackleford Coal Co. mine at Glenbrook. Mine officials were investigating the accident this morning and were unavailable for details.
However, attendants at Evarts Funeral Home were told that it was a haulage accident where two motors ran together.
Lefevers was graduated from Evarts High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been employed at the mine for four and one-half years.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Closplint Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Wynn officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery, Allentown.
In addition to his wife, Janice, he is survived by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lefevers, Closplint; four children, Lisa, Billy Jr., Randy and timothy, all of Closplint; brothers, Terry Lefevers, Closplint, and Bob of Lexington; and two sisters, Revina Early, Closplint, and Juanita Housegolder, Indiana.
The body will be taken to the home at 5 p.m. Saturday and remain there until the funeral hour.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Holmes, Lewis Pennington, David Owens, Rodney Jump, Clifford Buchanon and Mike Early.

She was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 28, 1955 a daughter of the late Nancy Adams and Franklin Bond, Sr. She was a mother, a homemaker and had worked at Pineville Community Hospital for fifteen years. She believed in the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Bond, Jr. and father and mother-in-law, Bud and Beatrice Lefevers. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Larry Lefevers of Pineville; children and their spouses, Shaun and Jessica Lefevers and Christina and Dustin Daniels all of Pineville; grandchildren, Kasey, Brandi and Natasha Hunter, Alexis and Lauran Lefevers all of Pineville; brothers and sisters, Charles Michael Bond of Pennsylvania, Norman Fredelake, Kelly Hensley and Cheri Fredelake all of Owenton, KY, Patricia Lefevers of Oregon and Carol Warren of California; brothers-in-law, Mike and Harold Lefevers and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was the son of the late Millard and Alifair Gross Lefevers, was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and the Southern Labor Union, and a member and deacon of the Mill Creek Baptist Church.
His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Alma Herrin Lefevers of Stoney Fork; three daughters, Mrs. Lawanda Brock, Mrs. Sue Couch and Mrs. Gail Brock, all of Stoney Fork; two brothers, Mr. Scott Lefevrs, Lockport, Ill., and Mr. James Lefevers, Clinton, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Betty Lasley, Jenson, Ky.; six grandchildren, Mrs. Pamela Collett, Mrs. Jana Caruso and Mr. Micheal Brock, who made their home with him, Gregory Brock and Jason and Stacy Couch; and four great-grandchildren, Mark, Heather, Amanda and Justin.

A resident here 40 years, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. John A Morris, Harlan; three nephews, Byon M Morris and Edward F Morris, Jacksonville, Fla., and Kenneth Howard, US Navy, Paris, France; and one niece, Mrs. Ernest Morgan, Hallsboro, NC.
She was a native of Bell County.

LeFevers, Charles Edward, 53, Died Tuesday in St. Louis, Missouri. He lived at 204 South Cardinal Lane, St. Charles, Missouri. He was born in Bell County, Kentucky, the son of the late William and Kathleen LeFevers, an employee of the Contact Beverage Packers, and served in WWII with the Army Air Force. Lefevers Charles Reed
KETTLE ISLAND -- Charles Reed Lefevers, 69, passed away Sunday, May 8, 1994, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1924, at Kettle Island, a son of the late Charley and Mattie (Nunn) Lefevers. On June 15, 1945 he was united in marriage to Frankie Lee Johnson and to this union seven children were born.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Biloxi from 1943 until Dec. 9, 1945. He worked as a lumber grader for Ritter Lumber Company and Marshall Lumber Company for 25 years. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was later united in marriage to Virgie Honeycutt.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Lee Lefevers, and two grandsons, Michael Caleb Lefevers and Wayne Lawson.
Survivors include three daughters and four sons: Sharon Lee Lefevers Shores and husband, Jack, of Chilbowie, Va., Norma Jean Lefevers Doenges and husband, Doug, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mary Kathleen Lefevers Lawson and husband, Phillip, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Billy Charles Lefevers of Lexington, Ky., Jacky Clyde Lefevers of Kettle Island, Michael Lefevers of Kettle Island and Timothy Wayne Lefevers of Arjay; six sisters, Pauline Lefevers Bennett, Coshocion, Ohio, Bonnie Lefevers Elliott, Pineville, Willie Lefevers Hoskins, Coldiron, Ky., Mary Lefevers Elliott, Barbourville, Ky., Barbara Lefevers Burnett, Connersville, Ind., Margaret Lefevers Brock, East Liverpool, Ohio; two brothers, Fred Earnest Lefevers, Kettle Island, Sonny Lefevers, Harrogate, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Charles Lefevers aged 21 years, a son of Tip Lefevers, died at Kettle Island one day last week after a short illness of typhoid fever. The remains were intered in the family graveyard on Straight Creek.

Mr. Charley Lefevers, 80, of Kettle Island passed away January 12, 1975. He was born on May 4, 1894 in Bell County. He was the son of the late Sonny LaFevers and Haley Lefevers. His wife preceded him in death in November of 1970 and one sister, France Levers, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include six daughters, Pauline Bennett, Coschton, Ohio; Bonnie Elliott, Pineville; Willie Hoskins, Molus, Ky.; Mary Elliott, Barbourville; Barbara Burnett, Connorsville, Ind., Margaret Brock, Winterpark, Fla.; four sons, Sonny, Charles, Fred and Tony, all of Kettle Island; seven sisters, Carrie Osborne, Cincinnati, Ohio; Sarah Cash, Lucy Butts, and Vergie Howard, all of Crab Orchard; Lilly Lawson, Bessie Neil, both of Stoney Fork; and Mildred Collett, Pineville; five brothers, Adarian Osborne, Dwyatt Osborne, U.S. Osborne, all of Crab Orchard; Farmer Lefevers, Stoney Fork; and Otis Lefevers, Kettle Island; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Charlotte Frost Lefevers, age 64, a life ong resident of Kettle Island, Ky., passed away Friday, June 15, 1984, at the Pineville Community Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1920 at Kettle Island, Ky., the daughter of the late George Frost and Mollie Brock Frost and stepdaughter of the late John P. Brock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulis G. Lefevers and one half brother, Quie Ford.

Straight Creek, KY -- Chester Lefevers, a retired truck driver of Straight Creek, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at Pineville Community Hospital. He was 67.
Funeral service for Mr. Lefevers was Saturday, July 10, 1999 at Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Neal and Rev. Walter Brock officiating. Music was by Sister Joyce Cox.
Burial was in the Lefevers family cemetery at Straight Creek, Kentucky. Pallbearers were friends and family members.
In addition to his parents, Johnny Lefevers and Maudie Lefevers, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Lefevers.
Chester Lefevers was born January 25, 1932, at Red Bird, Kentucky. He was a retired truck driver.

China Couch Lefevers, 88, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997 at Columbia Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
She was born in Bell County on May 18, 1909, a daughter of the late Solomn and Elizabeth Saylor Brock.
She was a retired factory worker and of the Holiness faith.
She was united in marriage to Hobert Lefevers who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, two daughters, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hampton Funeral Home with the Revs Theo Carter and Mervil Newman officiating.
Burial will be in the Green Hills Cemetery in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Grubbs, Clayton Grubbs, Casey Vaughn and harold Payne.

Clyde LeFevers, 71, of Hustonville Road died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 19, 1929, in Crab Orchard, he was son of the late Milt and Mintie Blanton LeFevers. He was a heavy equipment operator and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby McDaniel LeFevers, a son, Milton LeFevers of Danville; two daughters, Linda Kerr of Columbia and Mary Katherine Adams of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie R. LeFevers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

KETTLE ISLAND -- Rev. Clyde Lefevers, 41, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 1995, in Harlan County, Ky., as the result of a logging accident.
He was born April 12, 1954 in Bell County, a son of the late Charles Reed Lefevers and Mrs. Frankie Johnson Penrod, who survives. He was a minister of the Pentecostal faith, and was a member, deacon, and missionary director of the Harvest Worship Center in Harlan County.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Caleb Lefevers.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lefevers, Kettle Island; his mother, Frankie Johnson Penrod, Winchester, Ky.; two sons, Joseph Lefevers and Todd Lefevers, both of Kettle Island; two daughters, Hannah Lefevers and Elizabeth Lefevers, both of Kettle Island; three brothers, Bill Lefevers, Lexington, Ky., Mike Lefevers, Kettle Island, and Tim Lefevers, Arjay; three sisters, Sharon Shores, Chillhowie, Va., Norma Doenges, Ft. Mrs. Connie Lue Lefevers, 23, of 518 Tennessee Avenue, Pineville, Ky., passed away suddenly Thursday, December 14, 1978, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
Mrs. Lefevers was born July 17, 1955, in Wyandott, Mich., the daughter of Millard and Katie Jackson Stigal.
She was a member of the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church.

Flat Lick - David Lanny Lefevers, 63, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital.
He was born in Baughman, Ky., on Aug. 26, 1943, the son of the late Elmer and Ruby Gregory Lefevers. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, had worked for United Air and had been an office manager for Elmo Greer and Sons for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Lefevers Stewart.
Survivors include his brother, Pearl Ray Lefevers and wife, Robin; sister, Jennifer Jones and husband, John; nieces and nephews, Mary Stewart Hammons, J.S. Stewart III, Emily Hoskins, David Ray Stewart, Joyce Mary Lefevers and Jonna Knox; several great nieces and great-nephews, special cousin, Johnny Lefevers, friend, Bessie Lefevers and special brothers-in-law, J.S. Veteran dies in Accident
Pistol Accidentally Discharged at Night Club
Delnoe Lefevers, 23 year old veteran, died in the Pineville Community Hospital Sunday (3/30/1947) as the result of a gunshot wound received four days before at the Flamingo Inn, a night club on the Four Mile road. According to reports following the shooting Lefevers attempted to pull his pistol from his belt and it hung and in some way was discharged.
The bullet, entered the abdomen and lodged in his groin. He was taken to the hospital for treatment but refused to remain, returning to his home at Kettle Island, officers reported. He was brought back a day later when his condition became alarming and died there Sunday. He was the son of Mrs Noah Lefevers and is survived by three brothers, Walter and Martin Lefevers, Kettle Island, and Newt Lefevers, Cardinal.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3131 in charge. Veterans formed an honor guard and fired a salute at the grave. Burial was under direction of Durham Funeral Home.

Lefevers Donnie Ray
Donnie Ray LeFevers, 23, of 420 McBee St., Junction City, died there Tuesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to Boyle County Coroner Dr. James W. Ramey.
Ramey said LeFevers died about 3 p.m. in a bedroom at his parents' house where he had been living. A Boyle County deputy sheriff said LeFevers' body was found by his father, who arrived home just after the incident.
Born July 24, 1960, in Danville, LeFevers was the son of Clyde and Ruby McDaniel LeFevers of Junction City. He was a member of the Church of God and was a truck driver for Penn Ventilators.
Survivors include his wife, Donna M. LeFevers of Danville; a daughter, Siobhan Moon of Danville; a brother, Milton LeFevers of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Kerr of Columbia; a half sister, Mrs. Ron (Mary) Adams of Indianapolis.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Bill Stuthridge. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lefevers Ed
ONE DEAD, ONE SHOT IS HOLIDAY TOLL
Ed Lefevers is Slain by Mosco Hendrickson; Jas Sizemore is Wounded
Ed Lefevers, 22 years old was shot and killed Friday night near his home on Mill Creek and Mosco Hendrickson, 30 is in jail charged with willful murder. According to County Judge W.T. Robbins liquor was at the bottom of the affair.
Lefevers and his father, Noah Lefevers were going to Hendrickson’s house, according to the elder man, when Hendrickson opened fire on them, killing his son. He returned the fire but did not hit anyone. Hendrickson claims, according to Judge Robbins, that Lefvers went by his house and fired several shots into it. He claims that later Lefevers returned with his father and again started trouble. Hendrickson then fired, as he claimed, in self-defense.
Noah Lefevers swore out a warrant charging Hendrickson with willful murder and he is held without bond in jail here. An examining trial of the case has been set for Monday.
Another shooting affray marred the holiday season on Straight Creek. J.H. Rogers shooting and wounding James Sizemore. Rogers claims that Sizemore threatened him and the wounded man claims that he was shot without reason. Sizemore was brought to the Continental Hospital Christmas Day following the shooting and was reported in a serious condition. Two barrels of a shotgun were fired at him, one taking effect in his back.
Rogers is about 45 years old and Sizemore is about 35. Both are miners in Roth Camp. Sizemore swore out a warrant charging malicious shooting and wounding with intent to kill. Rogers was later released on bond of $500, and his hearing was set for Saturday.

Mrs. Eliza Lefevers of Cincinnati,Ohio,a former Resident of Kettle Island Ky.,died Monday July 19,1965 at 9:30a.m.
at the General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio following a short illness.
Mrs.Lefevers was born in Bell County, November 16,1911the daughter of the late Noah and Anna Elliott Lefevers.
She came from a well known family of Bell County and had lived here all of her life until after the death of her Mother four years ago.
She then moved to Cincinnati to make her home.
Survivors are two daughters Mrs. Lovella Wilson and Mrs. Pauline Hughes of Cincinnati ; two sisters Mrs. Mary Simpson of Louellan ,Ky and Mrs.Maxie Brock of Kettle Island ; two brothers Walter Lefevers of Morristown Tenn. and Martin Lefevers of Cincinnati ; three grandchildren and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 22 at 2 p.m. at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Thea O. Carter officiating.
Pall bearers will be Garry Lynn Leter, Garry Dale Miracle, Wayne Howell, David Price, Garry Smith, Roy Burk Jr., Paul Brock and Edd Jones.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight.

Mr. Elmer Lefevers, 83, of Flat Lick, Ky., a former Bell County resident passed away Wednesday, July 14 at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Lefevers was born November 22,1912, in Bell County, son of Mitt and Emily Hoskins Lefevers. He was a former bus driver and a Pineville City policeman. He was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church at Balkan, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Gregory Lefevers of Flat Lick; two daughters, Mrs. Jennifer Jones of Pineville, and Mrs. Joyce Stewart of Flat Lick, Ky.; two sons, Pearl Ray Lefevers of Kettle Island, and David Lefevers of Foster City, Calif.; two brothers, George Lefevers of Pineville, and Morris (Acle) Lefevers of Middlesboro.
Funeral services were Friday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at Pineville, with the Rev W.B. Bingham, the Rev. Rafe Collett and the Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial was in the Stewart Cemetery at Flat Lick.

STONEY FORK -- Farmer Lefevers, 80, passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 1993, at his home at Stoney Fork.
He was born March 16, 1913, at Kettle Island, a son of the late Sidney "Sonny" and Maggie Elliott Lefevers. He had been a self-employed truck driver. An avid University of Kentucky basketball fan, he played basketball in high school at Kettle Island. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Frances Helton Lefevers; three daughters, Janice Lefevers, Linda Lefevers-Reeves, and Deborah Stokes; grandchildren, Jody Akers, Jamie Akers-Mayes, and Leigh Ann Harris; and a sister, Lillie Lawson.
Services were to be at 11 a.m. today at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Witherite presiding. Burial will be in the Lawson Family Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as casketbearers.

"Nick" Lefevers passes away .Ferman Jolly (Nick) Lefevers, a prominent member of Bell County passed away monday November 12 of an apparant heart attack. Born in Bell County on January 16, 1926 the son of Mrs. Mabel Withrow Lefevers and the late Newt Lefevers, he was a life-long resident of Bell County. He was a member of the Blackmont Baptist Church. Mr. lefevers was a york rite Mason, past Master of Lodge 691, a memeber of the Eastern Star, American Legion, and past President of Chain Rock Citizens Band Club. He served 2 years in the U.S. Navy and was employed by the Dept. of Parks in Pine Mt. Park, Pineville.
Survivors: wife mrs. Eileen Britton Lefevers, Pineville, mother, Mrs. Mabel Lefevers, Pineville, one daughter, Kimberly Denise Lefevers, two stepdaughters, Lisa Ann Lefevers, Teresa Lynn Lefevers all of Pineville, two sisters, Mrs. Earnest Ann Broughton, Pineville and Mrs. Eva Bea Hebron, Columbus, Ohio, one brother, Newt Lefevers Jr., Milford, Ohio.
Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday November 14, 1973 at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pearl Saylor officiating. Active Pallbearers: Jim Bingham, Grant Ward, Jr., Ed Jenkins, Roy Jarvis, Hubert Dozier Jr., Jewel Farris and other members of Bell Lodge 691 F & AM. a resident of Straight Creek, KY., died Tuesday, November 28, 1989 at the Pineville Community Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1903 in Bell County, the son of the late Will Lefevers, and Mary Katherine Hensley. He was a retired coal miner, and a member of the Old Straight Creek Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was 86 years old.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Howard Lefevers, Straight Creek, KY., six children, Virgil Lefevers, Ray Lefevers, both of Tazewell, Tenn., Ruby Helton, Middlesboro, Ky., Ada Lee Perry, Garrogate, Tenn., Herbert Lefevers, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Shelby Jean Hatfield, Norwood, Ohio; one brother, Pearl (Doc) Lefevers, Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Phemia Siler, Middlesboro, Ky., and July Barton, hamilton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 1989 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Bramble. Pallbearers were grandsons.

Mr. George Lefevers, age 63, a life long resident of Bell County, Ky., passed away Thursday, July 1, 1982 at the Pineville Community Hospital, following a long illness.
He was born December 15, 1919 in Bell County, Ky., the son of the late Mitt Lefevers and Emily Hoskins Lefevers. He believed in the Baptist faith. He is survived by five children, John Michael Lefevers, Pineville, Judy Lefevers, Pineville, Georgiana Miller, Louisville, Ky., Flora Zean Mattingley, Louisville, Ky., and Wanda Faye Lefevers, Pineville; one brother, Morris Lefevers Sr., Middlesboro, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Kay, Gail, Frazier, Ricky, Johanna, Will and John David.
Funeral services for Mr. Lefevers were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 1982 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Ray Collett, Charles F. Jones and W.B. Bingham officiating. Bimble -- Hobert Ray Lefevers, 67, a former resident of Bell County died Friday, Jan. 6 at Pineville Community Hospital after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Sonny and Nancy Wilson Lefevers and was born in Bell County. Mr. Lefevers was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Barbourville and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. China Lefevers; a daughter, Ida Mae Lefevers, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Neal and Mrs. Lillie Lawson, Stoney Fork, and Mrs. Mildred Collett, Pineville; three brothers, Farmer Lefevers, Stoney Fork, Charles and Otis Lefevers, Kettle Island.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Jan. 9 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Pineville, with the Rev. Raymond Mulhern officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Mill Creek. Pallbearers were Paul Elliott, Roy Collett, Woodford Collett and Charles Lefevers.

Hugh H. LeFevers, 59, of Brodhead, died at his home at Brodhead, Sunday, after an illness of four years.
Mr. LeFevers was born in Bell County, but had lived in Rockcastle for the past 33 years. He was born the son of John and Alice LeFevers. His father is deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; two sons, Eugene LeFevers, of Brodhead, and James William LeFevers, of Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Weaver, Brodhead; one brother, Henry LeFevers, Dayton, Ohio; one half-brother, Raymond Nunn, Crab Orchard, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, at Brodhead Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. He was buried in Brodhead Cemetery. Howard Funeral Home of Crab Orchard, had charge of arrangements.

Funeral sevices were held Wednesday afternoon in Pineville City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Lefevers to whom he was married 29 years ago; one son and one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Payne, of Bimble and Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Cary; and Maude Seabolt, Harlan county; two brothers, Jeff Lefevers of Bell county and Master Sergeant Albert Lefevers, of the U.S. Army, who is in foreign service.
Mr. Lefevers was a native of Bell county. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was a member of Tazewell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Virgil LeFevers; parents, Ed and Zelma Woods; sister, June Wakefield; nephew, Tim Wakefield: son-in-law, Paul Brock.
She was a beloved mother and mother-in-law to: Sarizel LeFevers and husband Kenneth Robbins, Rick and wife Kathy LeFevers, and Keith and wife Mary Ann LeFevers; she was a loving and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and their spouses: Tracy Thomas and her fiancé Ben Hale, Alison and husband Steve Bailey, Ricky Todd and wife April LeFevers, Travis and wife Geri LeFevers, Jeremy and wife Becky LeFevers, Rebekah LeFevers Hatfield and husband Andy Hatfield, and Heather Hillman and Sara Laws; and a beloved great-grandmother to Tabitha Thomas, Austin Hale, Sarah Ann, Stevie and Seth Bailey, Jacob and Hailey LeFevers, Aimee and Chole LeFevers, and Kinsee and Kylie LeFevers.

straight creek - Mary Sue Smith Locke, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky.
Born April 18, 1940, at Insull, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Alexander and Myrtle Reed Smith. She graduated from the University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg, Ky., with a degree in education. She retired from the Bell County School System, where she served many years with distinction.
She enjoyed life to the fullest, and was a published poet with some of her works featured at the Smithsonian Institute. She had many interests and hobbies, but the highlight of her life was her deep faith in Jesus Christ, and her steadfast faithfulness to the church she loved - Rose Hill Community Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Locke; three brothers, Beauford Reed Smith, Alfred E. Smith and Robert Bruce Smith.

Peritonitis Fatal To Mother; Child Lives
Mrs. Ethel Lowe, 23 years old, died at the Wilson Hospital here Monday of peritonitis following an operation for appendicitis. Mrs. Lowe's child, which was born while she was at the hospital, is alive and doing nicely. Mrs. Lowe was the daughter of Senney Lefevers, of Kettle Island, and was well known in Pineville. Funeral services were held at Kettle Island.
